Mother Teresa
She was born in Albania in 1910, and died in 1997. She became famous for starting the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta, India. She began this in 1950 and for over forty years, she looked after the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work.
Nelson Mandela
He was a South African politician and activist. On April 27, 1994, he was made the first President of South Africa elected in a fully represented democratic election. Mandela was also the first black President of his country, South Africa.
Orville and Wilbur Wright
The Wright brothers found they had the magic formula on December 17th, 1903; they succeeded in flying the first free, controlled flight. Wilbur flew their plane for 59 seconds, at 852 feet, an extraordinary achievement.
